Brand focus: Muubaa
Cult British leather label Muubaa is poised for global expansion, having launched a new website and campaign.
June 2012.
Brand focus: Muubaa
Established: 2007
Signature style: Muubaa is recognised for its unique design handwriting and doing unexpected things with leather, challenging the traditional limitations of the material.
The label’s transformation to high-end global brand includes a new positioning strategy and visual identity, from the logo and packaging to the website, generating a new look and feel for the label.
Muubaa will also kick-start the season with an advertising campaign aimed at creating a sense of luxury, giving audiences more reasons to buy into Muubaa for the long-term.
And the plan seems to be working as high calibre stores such as Liberty, Fenwick and Harvey Nichols are lining up to stock the label alongside a selected handful of womenwear boutiques.
For a/w 12, the brand delivers easy wear, off-duty designs combined with stand-out statement pieces with an underlying elegance and simplicity. Jackets are defined by asymmetric lines, draped silhouettes and a muted colour palette, including an unlined style in cherry red suede.
Isabella Griffiths talks to Jamie Harden and Silvia Collins about their plans for new trade show Flip.
