Handmade knitwear specialist Amy Hall’s a/w 12 collection is to be sold in Wolf & Badger’s flagship store on Dover Street, London.

The boutique, which showcases independent design and directional fashion, will stock Hall’s range from September 2012.

East London-based Hall was inspired by Inuit and indigenous fishing cultures for her a/w 12 collection.

Apparel includes the Akiak gilet, the Nanuq jacket and the Kulitak long coat, inspired by the heavy furs traditionally worn by the Inuit people.

Garments use striking, dramatic textures and voluminous knits that create a sculptural quality.

Lighter separates are also available, such as tops and dresses for layering or wearing between seasons, as well as a body-skimming ribbed pencil skirt.

Hall’s a/w 12 collection also marks the designer’s first foray into non-knitted accessories, featuring a belt that provides a tougher element to the knitted jackets and coats.

“I wanted to explore how subsistence and survival in nature relates to beauty and form, for example the use of furs to protect hunters, or the adoption of diamond patterns in traditional fishing jumpers to symbolise success,” says Hall.

Henry Graham, co-founder of Wolf & Badger, adds: “We are excited to be stocking Amy Hall in our newDover Streetboutique. Amy’s work represents the talent of the nextgenerationof young British designers and is a key part of our a/w 12 selection.”

  • Wolf & Badger is a unique lifestyle brand showcasing and retailing the finest in independent design, where directional fashion is beautifully displayed alongside the most innovative accessories, homewares and objects d’art.
  • Amy Hall launched her first collection in September 2010.
