WWB's Natalie Dawson visited this season's Who's Next Paris, which took place on June 30-July 3, 2012, to uncover the hottest new trends and talents, plus the best collections.

July 2012.

At the show WWB discovered a plethora of new trends for the season, including inspirations taken from far flung holiday destinations and a bohemian spirit.

The main inspiration came from the US, with brands such as Swildens and Virginie Castaway in particular citing the States as a key influence on S/S 13 prints and fabrications.

Taking on the theme of travel tribal prints were a returning favourite for many labels such as Eleven Paris and Beija, while Lollipops channelled a Club Tropicana spirit.

Chanel-style jackets were also a huge theme found in most collections ranging from traditional boxy shapes in boucle fabrics to more relaxed biker styles.

Brighter denims, dip-dye denims and printed jeans will also be recurring theme from last season, this time embraced on a wider scale.

Knitwear was refined, with toned down stripes being the order of the day in most collections. Quality was also of upmost importance, with cashmere cited as the key fabric across the board.

Meanwhile, in terms of colour there will be no escaping orange this season, as the hue was the focus of many brands’ collections, usually in bright block tangerine shades.

Also on the agenda was a lineup of pretty pastels, vivid blue, aqua and mint.

To round off, accessories have a relaxed and bohemian edge. Oversized statement pieces will be replaced with charming, feminine pieces including beaded necklaces and friendship bracelets.
